Váhostav to sign new contract

Construction company Váhostav is close to signing another big contract after emerging the winner in a public procurement competition announced by the Transport Ministry. The company offered €137.7 million to build a 16-kilometre section of the cross-country D1 highway between Dubná Skala and Turany, the Sme daily reported.

“The cheapest bid won,” said Transport Ministry spokesperson Martin Krajčovič as quoted by Sme.

Váhostav, which is linked to businessmen Juraj Široký, has already signed another contract related to the D1 highway, to build the section between Jánovce and Jablonov for €60 million.
