VUB bank denies trouble rumours

The VUB bank has dismissed rumours that the institution is in financial trouble, after a number of the bank's customers withdrew about Sk200 million (4.7 million euro) from their accounts.

The bank's director, Tomas Spurny, said his bank was actually doing very well. Slovak Central Bank spokesman Jan Onda also confirmed that customers "had no reason to panic".
