Average wages in 2002 rose higher outside Bratislava than in the capital in 2002, according to the research agency Trexima. Wages rose 7 percent on average, with workers for Slovak-owned companies seeing the highest rises of 11 percent.
The highest-paid workers in Slovakia are university-educated employees in banking, computing, architecture, and law. The lowest-paid workers are in agriculture, who are paid an average of Sk54.70 (€1.34) per hour despite a 28 percent rise over 2001.
The average wage in Slovakia at the end of 2002 was Sk93.30 (€2.28) per hour.
