The first-level thunderstorm warning, accompanied with hail in some places, has been issued for all Slovak regions, lasting until 22:00 on June 19.

The first-level warning was extended for all of Slovakia also to June 20, being in effect between 11:00 and 21:00.

The temperature is expected to climb up to 31 degrees Celsius in southern regions on June 19, but weather conditions will change during the day from hot and stuffy weather to thunderstorms and hailstorms.

Meteorologists also warn that short but intense downpours may cause river levels to rise temporarily and cause damage to people's property; subways and cellars could be flooded.
