Four employees of the Harmanecké Papierne paper factory in Harmanec built a pyramid of toilet paper rolls measuring 2.88 metres high and totalling 552 rolls on September 11 in Banská Bystrica's SNP square. The pyramid took 11 minutes to build and surpassed the principal criterion set by the Guinness Book of World Records - that it remain standing for over three minutes. The old record pyramid stood a paltry 250 centimetres high and was built by a Czech team.
The event was organised in celebration of the paper factory's 170th anniversary and in cooperation with the on-going 342nd annual city fair in Banská Bystrica. Company representatives and event organisers are now "demanding" that their toilet paper skills be officially recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records.
