Shooting the constitution

FILM CITY in Mumbai, established in 1977 and spread over 500 acres, is one of the largest studio complexes in India. But while Film City is better known for Bollywood style films, it is also the place where prominent Indian filmmaker Shyam Benegal shot a 10-part TV series, The Story of the Making of the Constitution of India – Samvidhaan. The series is scheduled to air later this year.

Slovak discovery in India

FOOTPRINTS left by the Jurassic ancestors of today’s birds are rare, but a Slovak scientist, Ján Schlögl from the Department of Geology and Palaeontology at the Comenius University, has found one near the village of Thaiat, Rajasthan. The expedition discovered an imprint of the foot of a small Jurassic theropod, which scientists believe to be the evolutionary link between dinosaurs and modern birds, the Sme daily reported on January 20.

"When I arrived here I was very very happily surprised," says Yves Rouche, a hotel consultant and golf club manager from South Africa, who came to Slovakia more than five years ago to live with his girlfriend. After studying in France and living all around the world he settled down in Košice. Slovakia was much more colorful and free than he initially thought it would be, he said. "Actually this country was very nice, beautiful women - certainly one of the highest concentrations of pretty ladies," he says.

Slovakia has traditionally had a bilateral trade surplus, according to Brazilian data. In the period of January- November 2013, it amounted to $135.22 million, plus 38 percent in comparison with the same period in 2012, while trade in both directions reached a total amount of $184.63 million. Machinery and vehicles are the main exports of both Slovakia and Brazil. There is potential to enhance and diversify Brazilian-Slovak trade flows. Participation in international fairs in both countries and business missions are useful tools.

"Slovaks are like a coconut, people are quiet and more reserved in public. However, when you get inside that shell, you've got a friend for life," Gavin Shoebridge, a journalist in Radio Slovakia International, says when talking about Slovaks.
