Jasná ski resort braces for ski World Cup event

Tickets, including €2,500 VIP package, already sold out.

After three years, Slovakia will once again host the FIS Alpine World Cup. The world's best female skiers will gather at the Jasná ski resort in the Low Tatras mountain range for the event on January 20-21.

In addition to Petra Vlhová, who was born nearby, ski fans can also see other big names over the weekend.

According to the organisers, World Cup tickets and parking places are sold out. Basic two-day €55 tickets to the Koliesko and Priehyba zones locations were sold out within minutes. Even the pricier VIP tickets for €350 and the most expensive tickets with gifts and priority entry for €2,500 have long been snapped up.

During both days of the event, transport to the Demänovská Dolina valley, where the resort is located, will be closed.

Only residents, lodgers, visitors with parking in reserved parking areas and the participants and organisers will be able to get to the resort by car.

Other visitors will park in dedicated areas below the valley and a free shuttle service will be provided. Parking areas with a capacity for 7,500 cars will be set up, while up to a 100 ski buses will take visitors to the resort, starting from the railway station in Liptovský Mikuláš.

With the exception of three slopes - the Petra Vlhová, Majstrovská, and Biela Púť - others at the resort will be open to the public. For safety reasons, it will not be possible to stand on the side of the tracks during the races.
