Slovakia loses another World Championship match

The Slovak national hockey team lost in their third match at the IIHF World Championships 2017 against Denmark on shootouts.

The Slovak national hockey team lost the game in the IIHF World Championships 2017 against Denmark on shootouts 4:3.

Martin Gernát, Mário Bližňák and Michel Miklík scored for Slovakia, while Danish goals were scored by Nichlas Hardt, Patrick Russell and Morten Poulsen.

Slovakia now has 3 points in the preliminary round.

The Slovaks are playing in group A of the preliminary round, with the matches being held in Cologne, Germany. They will face teams from Italy, Latvia, Denmark, Germany, Russia, the USA and Sweden.

Based on current IIHF World Rankings Slovakia is currently in 7th position while Denmark ranks 12th.
