Matej Sloboda – Magnetic Strings

November 3, at 17:00 in Klarisky Church, Klariská Street

American composer Alvin Lucier was among the pioneers of experimental music and sonic arts. He focused his work on sound as a physical - tangible phenomenon, often extending to long-term research into psychoacoustic phenomena. His music seems to be on the border between a concert and an installation.

The music of the last few years by the Slovak composer Matej Sloboda takes over Lucier's fascination with sound as the basic and only matter, creates for the listener processes of transformation on long quasi-static surfaces, reminiscent of a "sound landscape”, where time seemed to stop for a moment, although it is constantly flowing in our subconscious.
