Bratislava's Christmas tram has been unveiled ahead of its traditional festive run through the streets of the capital.
The historic K2G articulated car (#7085) was unveiled on Wednesday, December 6 at the Jesenského stop near the Slovak National Theatre building.
Bearing a snowflake symbol, the tram is coloured red and green, and decked with knitted decorations, patches with Bratislava landmarks, brambles, Christmas lights, and a snowy winter garden in the back of the car.
It follows a circular route through the city centre via the following stops: Jesenského - Námestie SNP - Kapucínska - Nábrežie - Jesenského.
No ticket is required to ride the tram.
"The Christmas tram is a city tradition. It will contribute to the creation of a real Christmas, which is about nice experiences, memories and pleasant meetings," Bratislava Mayor Matúš Vallo said at its unveiling.
The special service operates on weekdays at 30-minute intervals starting at 16:00, with the last ride at 20:00. On work days during the school holidays, weekends and public holidays, it starts running at 12:00 and lasts until 20:00.
It will initially operate on December 9 and 13 and then continuously from December 16 until January 6, 2024 with the exception of December 24.
