As for an architectural and construction solution, experts in the construction of load-bearing structures say it's one of the most unique projects in Central Europe, writes the My Novohrad website.

"We all perceive the need to build cycling infrastructure. The basic idea, which we have been working on for years, is to build cycling paths and connect them with all parts of the city. The implementation of the planned cycling routes is not easy, given the demanding processes of property law settlements, and the related territorial and construction procedures," said Ján Nosko, the mayor of Banská Bystrica.

He added that the new cycling bridge was a huge opportunity to obtain extra-budgetary resources in the amount of more than €3 million. The central Slovak city took the opportunity.

"I think the new cycling bridge in the Radvaň-Kráľová area is a nice landmark at the entrance to our city and residents will appreciate it," Nosko pointed out.

The mayor emphasised that the cycling bridge is an important element of the planned Hušták – Radvaň – Kráľová cycling route, for which the municipality has processed documentation for a building permit.

The new cycling bridge is approximately 203 metres long and is illuminated by LED lights after dark.
