Adventure seekers have a new destination in central Slovakia: the Via Ferrata – Sokolie Skaly, a natural climbing centre that officially opened on Saturday, 5 April, near the town of Zvolen.
“This modern climbing centre offers a wide range of routes – from simple bridges and scenic viewpoints for beginners to technically demanding sections for seasoned via ferrata enthusiasts,” said Terézia Krajčová of the Central Slovakia Tourism Organisation (OOCR Stredné Slovensko).
The site, carved into the rocky slopes of Sokolie Skaly, features climbing routes secured with steel ropes and footholds, ensuring safety even in its most exposed sections.
If you do not own a via ferrata set, you can rent one at Koliba u Rytiera. The rental fee is €10 for four hours or €15 for a full day. A refundable deposit of €50 is required and will be returned upon the return of the undamaged set.
