Bratislava is hosting GLOBSEC Forum

Bratislava began hosting the sixth Global Security Forum on March 2, the most important annual foreign policy and security forum in central Europe that is organised by the Slovak Atlantic Committee (SAC), the SITA newswire wrote.

The two-day agenda is divided into seven panel discussions and includes the post-election situation in Belarus, trans-Atlantic relations, the Eastern Partnership of the EU, protests in the Arab world and climate changes.

The most prominent guests include foreign ministers such as Slovakia’s Mikuláš Dzurinda, Hungary’s János Martonyi and the Czech Republic’s Karel Schwarzenberg. Security issues are being addressed by Slovak Defence Minister Ľubomír Galko and his Croatian counterpart Davor Božinovič.

A live broadcast from Globsec is being watched at several universities in Europe and Northern America and the discussion is broadcast live at www.ata-sac.org/globsec2011/live-streamm and questions can be submitted as well through Facebook.
