FinMin: State budget posted deficit of €2.3 billion in November
SLOVAKIA’s state budget posted a deficit of €2.3 billion as of the end of November, the Finance Ministry announced on December 1. Revenues were up by €309.7 million year-on-year, while expenditures increased by €651.7 million, the TASR newswire reported.
Tender’s office will scrutinise toll tender
PUBLIC Procurements Office (ÚVO) will inspect The National Highway Company’s (NDS) tender for verifying payments with so-called fuel cards for road tolls on the initiative of NDS and Transport, Construction and Regional Development Minister Ján Počiatek, NDS General Director Milan Gajdoš announced on November 28.

Slovaks want to compete with Russians with gas pipeline Eastring
THE SLOVAK gas carrier Eustream has introduced a project of a new gas pipeline Eastring that is to be an alternative to the Russian project South Stream. It aims at interconnecting the existing gas pipelines in Slovakia, Ukraine and Romania via a new 570 kilometre pipe through which it would be possible to supply gas to the Balkans from western Europe, the TASR newswire reported on December 1.
SDKÚ wants changes, members leave
VILIAM Novotný announced his leave from Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) after its presidium refused the proposal of five regional party’s chairmen including Novotný, aimed at altering the statutes of SDKÚ and changing the way the opposition party is run during a party session, held on November 27.
