Božena production may move to Czech Republic

Economic sentiment rose slightly in September
THE ECONOMIC sentiment indicator (ESI) changed little in September. Compared to the previous month its three-month moving average rose by 0.2 points to 103.1 points. The positive development of confidence in construction was cancelled out by the negative development among consumers and in services.

FOR four years, Slovak authorities have been unable to conclude the infamous case of the Glance House development. On October 3, the interlocutory judgment of the Supreme Court, which suspended the ruling of the Prešov District Court that the ownership of Glance House can be transferred to the mailbox company CDI, which is close to businessman Marián Kočner, will elapse, the Sme daily wrote on September 30.

Ordinary three-member family spends 40 percent more than in 2004
ORDINARY households in Slovakia spend nearly 40 percent more than 10 years ago, with an average three-member family consuming a total of €936 per month, according to an analysis conducted by Sberbank Slovensko, based on data provided by the Slovak Statistics Office, the TASR newswire reported on September 26.

Fico wants to cut wages for MPs holding multiple posts
IF AN elected MP simultaneously serves as a mayor or holds the post of at least a local deputy, he or she should earn only the minimum wage for those additional posts, and not a full second or third salary, according to Prime Minister Robert Fico. He proposed for this change to be enacted after the 2016 parliamentary elections, the Sme daily reported on September 29.
Slovakia in talks with Tesla Motors
THERE is a chance that Slovakia may get a fourth carmaker, with the Economy Ministry confirming it has been in talks with US electric car producer Tesla Motors. The carmaker, which is considered to be the most innovative in the world, confirmed in June its long-term plans to build a plant in Europe. Slovakia is a contender, with the carmaker already involved in talks with the Slovak Agency for Development of Investments and Trade (SARIO).

STUDENTS from 17 Slovak cities and towns were invited to release thousands of bubbles on August 25 for the Bubble Day event. The goal was to brighten the day for people in the streets, the organisers informed, adding that anyone, be it a child or an adult with a bubble blower, was encouraged to participate.
