Murdered woman repeatedly approached police
DAGMAR Chocholáčková, a 45-year-old woman from Bratislava contacted police several times in 2015, claiming that ex-boyfriend Štefan Kiš was threatening her. Police found the pair dead on January 15, and the Interior Ministry has since launched an investigation.

THE government at its session on January 20 approved investment assistance for IEE Sensing Slovakia worth €4.58 million which is aimed at increasing the production capacity of the firm’s plant in Veľká Ida in Košice Region.
Cabinet approves reconstruction of premises for NATO
MILITARY premises in the Bratislava borough of Vajnory which will accommodate the newly set up NATO Force Integration Unit (NFIU) from September 2016 will be reconstructed. At its session on January 20, the cabinet approved the announcement of a public procurement process for their reconstruction.
In Košice hospital, a nurse committed suicide
A nurse at Košice University Hospital committed suicide in the emergency admission ward during the morning of January 18.
Galanta town council did not discuss closure of Galandia
THE THERMAL centre/waterpark Galandia has been closed since December 11, due to fears of structural flaws. The case was to be discussed at the Galanta town council meeting on January 20, and so dozens of locals waited outside - in vain.
