Altogether 39 employers participated in the national project of engaging the unemployed in restoring cultural heritage, creating 602 jobs.
The Central Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family (ÚPSVaR) allocated more than €3.224 million for this purpose in 2016, its spokesperson Jana Lukáčová told the TASR newswire.
Between the years 2011 and 2015 a total of 123 entities have participated in restoring castle ruins and other cultural heritage monuments. They created altogether 1,763 jobs for the unemployed, Lukáčová added.
As for the finances, ÚPSVaR allocated more than €6.836 million for this period to support employment within the projects, TASR reported.
The projects were also co-financed from the European Social Fund. Regarding the coming programming period, some €15 million is allocated within the Operational Programme Human Resources.
