Most often, they are willing to do so in order to secure a better future in form of higher salary and a shorter commuting time, but also more interesting work, the TASR newswire wrote.
Three-quarters of people said that in the recent past they had changed employer, according to a poll conducted by the Focus agency for the Profesia recruitment company that involved more than 1,000 respondents over age 18.
Moreover, most Slovaks do so after three, five and ten years on the job. Up to 20 percent of those who changed their job in the past say they did so between one and three years after starting it. However, there are still employees who work 15 and more years for a single employer.
Most of the working people who have already changed jobs at least once evaluate the change positively. The poll confirms this, as 73 percent of those who changed their employer were satisfied and saw it as a move for the better.
“Often, if someone works in one job, on one position, in the long term, he can fall into routine and fail to see the benefits the company offers,” Ivana Molnárová, CEO of the Profesia company, told TASR. “Thus, a change can be positive both for the employee and the company.”
Reasons for the change include a better future, better salary, shorter commuting time, more interesting work, but also starting a business, chance for career growth, or a better work team.
