“Fines worth €14.32 were paid in 2014, which also includes fines imposed by the Office from previous years,” reads the report. Based on the document, PMÚ issued totally 32 decisions on illicit practices last year, including the abuse of the dominant position on the market and agreements limiting due competition.
The Anti-Monopoly Office’s role is protecting and endorsing economic competition while also creating conditions for its further development. It is obliged to intervene against prohibited practices, oversee the structure of markets and contribute towards creating favourable conditions for business competition.
