THE TOTAL output of the automotive industry in Slovakia reached Sk240 billion (€5.89 billion) in 2003, compared to the 2002 results of Sk185 billion (€4.54 billion), the SITA news wire wrote.
Originally, production ranging from Sk160 billion (€3.93 billion) to Sk200 billion (€4.91 billion) had been the target for 2010. In addition to a new production programme in Volkswagen Slovakia, the increase of subcontractor deliveries also pumped up the production numbers for the industry, the Economy Ministry said in its report.
