Average monthly salary rises

The highest average monthly wage was in financial and insurance services sector at €1,545, followed by IT and communications at €1,341 and then in electricity and natural gas supplies at €1,215.

The average monthly salary in 10 monitored sectors was lower than the overall average wage in the national economy. Employees working in the accommodation and food service sector continued to have the lowest salary, at €446.68 per month, SITA wrote.

The highest relative increase in the average nominal wage over the one-year period was an increase of 7.5 percent in education. It was followed by an increase of 7.1 percent in administrative services and 6.7 percent in other services.

The lowest growth rate was reported in transport and storage at 1.1 percent, in industrial manufacturing at 1.4 percent, and in mining and extraction of raw materials at 1.7 percent. Salaries in accommodation and restaurant services actually dropped by 6.7 percent; in electricity and natural gas supplies salaries fell by 5.1 percent; and employees in real estate services saw their average salaries decline by 1.9 percent.
