A RECENT ranking of Slovak companies according to the amount they spend on supporting socially-responsible projects was published by the Slovak Donors’ Forum on October 15.

The Donors’ Forum reviewed and ranked 27 companies which had responded to a questionnaire about their expenditures on socially-responsible activities. The title of TOP Corporate Philanthropist went to Slovenský Plynárenský Priemysel, Slovakia’s gas utility company, which contributed over €1.6 million towards community activities. Electricity distributor Západoslovenská Energetika ranked second with contributions of about €780,000, followed by Prvá Stavebná Sporiteľňa, a construction savings and loan bank, which donated €516,000 in 2008.
