A consortium led by Vodohospodárska vystavba, and including Banské Stavby Prievidza, the state-run construction company Želba in Spišská Nová Ves, Uranpress, Hydrostav Bratislava and Váhostav Žilina, was chosen to be the general supplier of the first pipe in the construction of a highway tunnel under the Branisko mountain in East Slovakia, the nine-member government-appointed board announced. The consortium offered to construct the pipe for 2.45 billion Sk, which was 500 million Sk less than a competing bid submitted by a consortium created by Doprastav, Inžinierske Stavby and Prague-based Metrostav.
