A total of 22 destinations in 16 countries will be offered by the Bratislava airport during its winter flight schedule.
There will be five more routes compared to the previous year. This includes brand new direct routes added to the list this year: Kiev in Ukraine by Wizz Air, Nis in Serbia and Leeds-Bradford in the United Kingdom, both run by Ryanair, the airport’s spokesperson Veronika Ševčíková informed in a press release.
In addition, there are also new routes to Skopje in Macedonia by Wizz Air, and Edinburgh and Manchester in the UK by Ryanair, as these routes were launched only in April 2016.
Wizz Air launches the new route to Kiev as of December 17, while it plans to start a new route to Tuzla in Bosnia in the end of March 2017. Ryanair will operate a new route from Bratislava to Eilad-Ovda in Israel as of October 30, as well as a new route to Nis as of October 31, and a new route to Leeds-Bradford as of November 4. All new routes will be operated twice a week.
A total of six airlines currently operate flights at the Bratislava airport: Ryanair, Pobeda, Wizz Air, flydubai, Czech Airlines and Air Cairo. Air Cairo operates direct charter flight to Hurghada once a week, according to the press release.
Flydubai is increasing flight frequencies from Bratislava to Dubai from three times a week to four times a week, offering a route to Bangkok, Thailand with transfer in Dubai, as well as transfers to Colombo, Sri Lanka, Oman and Maldives, the press release reads.
