“Commencing October 2015, Pobeda airline is expected to come here,” the airport’s director Ivan Trhlík told the TASR newswire, adding that the airline is a subsidiary of the Aeroflot group and will operate a daily Bratislava - Moscow route.
Moscow is an important destination for Bratislava, according to Trhlík. Tourists from Slovakia will be able to travel via Moscow to other parts of Russia and Asia, he added.
There is also considerable demand for Sofia (Bulgaria), Skopje (Macedonia), Tbilisi (Georgia), Tehran (Iran) and Tel Aviv (Israel).
“These are the types of destination that we may launch soon,” Trhlík said, as quoted by TASR, adding that this should commence in March or April next year.
He also confirmed that a Bratislava - Berlin connection will be launched on October 27 which will be operated by Ryanair.
