THE 2002 state budget ended with a deficit of Sk37.12 billion (898 million euro), 97.7 per cent of the target, as well as a further debt of Sk14.57 billion (353 million euro) in bank restructuring costs.
In 2003 the bank restructuring and operating expenses categories are to be merged into one united budget figure in accordance with the EU's ESA 95 budget guidelines, making for more transparent public finance accounting.
