SLOVAK businessmen think that they have to bribe officials if they want to achieve something within the public sector, a Transparency International Slovakia and Focus survey suggests.
According to the survey, three-quarters of businessmen think that they almost always or often have to bribe officials to get a license on time.
Although, businessmen know that widespread corruption harms the business environment itself, in practice they do not fight against it in their firms and instead blame officials for the high level of corruption, the daily SME reports.
