THE CABINET has again put off approving the sale of 49 per cent stakes in three energy distributors for a collective Sk25 billion ($538 million) to three foreign investors, with last week the Christian Democrats and now the SDĽ leftist party demanding clarification of some aspects of a recent series of tenders.
Privatisation commissions had announced April 19 that the winner of a tender for the ZSE distributor was the German E.ON with a bid of 330 million euros, while the French EdF took the SSE tender with 160 million euros and the German RWE Plus got VSE for 127 million euros.
The SDĽ, which in the past has often resisted such sales of state property, said it wanted to know more about the prices accepted, and to see guarantees for the production of energy generator Slovenské elektrárne.
