According to a magazine specialized on the capital markets, the Slovak capital market is one of the least favorites in central and eastern Europe. The analysis by Global Investor magazine said that the Slovak organized market suffers from similar problems as the market in the Czech Republic such as a lack of transparency, But the Slovak capital market faces additional problems of low liquidity and an insecure political situation, the magazine wrote. The Slovak capital market grew by 18 percent in 1996, the lowest growth among all countries in the region.
