Statutory representatives of companies established in Slovakia will not need an ID card with an activated electronic chip to receive official correspondence from state authorities, nor will they have to log into the state e-letterbox via the Slovensko.sk website.
IT experts from civic association Slovensko.Digital introduced the new service GovBox thanks to which statutory representatives will receive correspondence directly to their private emails, for a small charge, the SITA newswire reported.
One of the reasons for launching the service was the complicated use of the state e-letterboxes, the use of which will be mandatory for all corporate entities residing in Slovakia listed in the business register as of July 1, 2017.
“Thus we introduce the GovBox service which will simplify the work of statutory representatives,” said Ján Hargaš of the association, as quoted by SITA.
Currently, statutory representatives need to obtain an active e-ID in order to log into their e-letterboxes established by the state. They also need to get a card reader and install software to use it. Of more than 200,000 statutory representatives who will be obliged to use the state e-letterboxes, nearly 100,000 are still not prepared, SITA wrote.
The system designed by Slovensko.Digital is based on an application which automatically checks the state e-letterbox and sends the communication and also the information about its reception to the email set by the statutory representatives.
“To put it simply, it can be described as an electronic postman,” said Ján Suchal of Slovensko.Digital, as quoted by SITA.
Statutory representatives only need to register, sign the authorisation and have it confirmed by a notary. The rest will be done by the association. The activation fee is €9, while a monthly charge for using the application is €8.
In case statutory representatives do not receive any mail, the service will be free during the respective month, SITA reported.
The registration for the application has already been launched at www.govbox.sk. During the following weeks, the Slovensko.Digital association will monitor the interest in the service. It will start connecting users to the system in early June in order for them to receive state mail as of July 1, SITA wrote.
