Construction production in Slovakia grows slower than in the rest of Europe

SEASONALLY adjusted construction production of Slovak construction companies increased month-on-month by 1.3 percent in June, while in the rest of European Union it increased by 3.5 percent.

SEASONALLY adjusted construction production of Slovak construction companies increased month-on-month by 1.3 percent in June, while in the rest of European Union it increased by 3.5 percent.

EU’s construction production increased 3.5 percent in comparison with May results, according to Eurostat. In comparison with June last year, Slovak construction production decreased in June this year 7 percent. On the contrary, in Euro zone, the development production increased year-on-year 3,1 percent, and 5,4 percent in the whole Europe.

CONSTRUCTION production increased in eight countries and decreased in six around the EU in June. The biggest increase month-on-month was noted in Romania (16,5 percent), Spain (7,2 percent) and in Poland (4,5 percent). The biggest decrease in comparison with May was noted in Hungary (2,3 percent), Holland (1,8 percent) and Slovenia (1,6 percent).
