The Slovak branch of ČSOB Inc., Bratislava, a commercial bank, last year recorded a 39 percent growth in its total assets, amounting to 51.811 billion Sk. It is the largest branch of a foreign bank in Slovakia, and it almost reaches the position of the third largest Slovak bank - IRB. The biggest problem for ČSOB is its receivable owed by Slovenská inkasná jednota Ltd., Bratislava (SI). The SI, with its only shareholder being the Slovak Finance Ministry, is not repaying the claim worth approximately 13 billion Sk.
ČSOB had 39% total assets growth in 1996
