DOPRASTAV, one of the biggest construction companies in Slovakia, reported output of Sk1.6 billion (€39.8 million) in the first quarter of this year, the private news agency SITA reported.
The company's sales reached Sk1.3 billion (€32.4 billion). It generated an added value of Sk217.7 million (€5.4 million) but ended the first quarter Sk55.4 million (€1.4 million) in the red.
Doprastav plans to invest about Sk500 million (€12.4 million) in development, particularly in construction machines, transport facilities, and real estate.
The company also plans to invest an unspecified but reportedly considerable sum in a new information system and information technology.
The investments are meant to increase the quality of construction works.
In March 2004, Doprastav employed 2,987 people with an average monthly wage of Sk16,902 (€420).
