HOUSEHOLDS that buy their electricity from regional power distributor Východoslovenská energetika (VSE) will once again pay the highest price in the country for electricity this year, according to data from the Regulatory Office for Network Industries for 2005 and 2006.
Households in eastern Slovakia will pay Sk3,899 per megawatt hour (MWh) in 2006, Sk57 more than the price offered by regional power distributor Stredoslovenská energetika, whose household clients will pay Sk3,842 per MWh on average.
The regional power distributor in western Slovakia, Západoslovenská energetika, offers the cheapest electricity at Sk3,715 per MWh, the SITA news agency wrote.
