Slovakia will decide within the next two weeks whether to further increase its recent euro bond issue, Finance Minister Brigita Schmögnerová said on July 6.
In June Slovakia launched a 350 million euro ($357.5 million) bond issue priced to yield 420 basis points over benchmark German Bunds, later increasing the issue by another 50 million euros with a 415 basis point spread. Schmögnerová told journalists that while the government had not yet made a decision on increasing the issue, conditions were now more favourable than they had been in June. The original issue, she added, was currently trading with a spread below 400 basis points.
