NEW industrial orders in Slovakia decreased by 29.1 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) in March, following a y-o-y drop of 38.2 percent in the previous month. Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, reported on March 26 that in a monthly comparison, industrial orders grew by 2.5 percent in March following growth of 0.4 percent in February, the SITA newswire wrote.
Within the European Union (EU) as a whole, new industrial orders declined 25.5 percent y-o-y in March. On a monthly basis, new industrial orders in the EU went down 0.7 percent in the third month of this year compared with a 1.2 percent decline in February. In the 16-member eurozone, industrial orders decreased by 26.9 percent y-o-y, with a 0.8 percent monthly decline.
