Eurotel profits up 23 per cent in 2001

Mobile operator Eurotel saw profit last year before tax, interest and amortisation (EBITDA) of Sk2.6 billion ($54 million), a growth of 23 per cent over 2000 and the first year since the 1997 introduction of GSM services that Eurotel has made a net profit. Competitor Globtel last year made an EBITDA profit of Sk3.7 billion, up 36 per cent from the year before.
