EXIM Bank's export loans to total 3.2 billion Sk

According to the draft of the state budget for 2000, 500 million crowns will be allocated to the trade-support bank EXIM Bank for support of Slovak exports. The volume of loans given in support of export activities in the year 2000 will rise 25% to 3.2 billion crowns, while the volume of exports the bank will support next year will reach 11.5 billion crowns.

The bank plans to insure 5.8 billion crowns worth of exports against risk. Of this figure, 3.8 billion crowns are destined to cover short-term commercial and political risks.

EXIM Bank's profit in the year 2000 is projected at 132 million crowns. The bank was founded on July 1, 1997, and its main task is to support the country's exports and imports with guarantees that businesses will not lose their money if they export to risky areas like the Russian Federation.
