Farmers: Labour rules crimping harvest

SLOVAK farmers have demanded another revision to the Labour Code, whose rules restrict overtime to a maximum 300 hours per year. Now entering the harvest season, farmers say the law is preventing them from getting crops in.

Many employers have complained the Code, which took effect April 1 this year, seeks to over-regulate the labour market to protect workers from perceived exploitation.
