THE AVERAGE Slovak nominal wage for February 2005 increased year-on-year in all sectors, according to figures published by the Statistics Office on April 8.
The highest growth in nominal wages was in industry, 21.7 percent, and telecoms, 21.6 percent, the TASR news agency wrote. Real wages also rose in all sectors including industry (18.5 percent), telecoms (18.4 percent), car sales and maintenance (16.8 percent), real estate (8.6 percent), retail (7.6 percent), wholesale (7.5 percent), hotels and restaurants (6.7 percent), transport (6.5 percent), postal services (5.5 percent) and construction (3.3 percent).
In February the highest average nominal wages was in the telecommunications sector, at Sk38,723 (€990) while the lowest was in hotels and restaurants, Sk9,575 (€243).
