Parliament adopted a revision to the road law stipulating fee increases for highway use on December 17. Fees for cars with engines up to 1600 cc will swell to 400 Sk ($11), while cars with engines over 1600 cc will pay 800 Sk ($22). Stamps are available at border crossings, petrol stations, and post offices. The main goal of the bill is to secure finances for the maintenance of the motorway network in Slovakia, and will bring an additional 280 million Sk annually.
