THE NUMBER of newly registered cars and vans weighing up to 3.5 tonnes in Slovakia fell by 23.8 percent year-on-year in August to 5,624, Igor Novosad of Slovakia's Car Industry Association (ZAP) told the TASR newswire.
A total of 43,311 passenger cars and vans were registered over the first eight months of 2010, which represents a 35.14-percent drop on the year.
Škoda remained at the top of the model list between January-August with an 18.55-percent share of the total, with Renault coming second at 7.65 percent, closely followed by Volkswagen at 7.11 percent.
