THE SLOVAK Finance Ministry received a 'Recognized for Excellence' certificate in Brussels on June 13 from the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM). The Finance Ministry is the first central state body in Europe to receive the prize.
Deputy Finance Minister Vladimír Tvaroška was in attendance to accept the award on the minsitry's behalf. EFQM Deputy Director Melissa Rancourt said the award confirms that the ministry is performing well towards its key target groups, including the government, business people, the public and employees, and is constantly reviewing its performance in order to improve.
The EFQM is a non-profit membership organisation founded in 1988 by 14 top European companies with the support of the European Commission, the SITA news agency wrote.
