THE CITY of Žilina is preparing a project to construct 1,095 rental flats for the future employees of the South Korean carmaker Kia, the state-run news agency TASR wrote.
According to TASR, the new flats will be built on the northern Slovak city's largest housing estate, Vlčince. The city will not financially contribute to the building of the flats.
The flats should be built by the Bratislava-based limited liability firm Kastor.
At present, TASR wrote, the project is only in its starting phase. The total construction area for the new housing estate should reach 17,150 square metres.
When bidding for Hyundai/Kia's central European investment, the city of Žilina pledged to build 1,0000 1,200 flatst o 1,200 flats for the carmaker within two years.
