REGULAR flights to 25 destinations in 13 countries as well as flights to Košice will be offered from Bratislava Airport between March 27 and October 29, the SITA newswire reported. Eight airline companies – Ryanair, Danube Wings, Czech Airlines, Polish Airlines, Travel Service, El Al (Sun d'Or International), Armavia and Belle Air will operate scheduled flights from Bratislava Airport.
Scheduled flights to Las Palmas on the Spanish island of Gran Canaria and to Yerevan, Armenia, are now offered by Ryanair and Armavia and are additions to last summer’s schedule.
Belle Air, an Italian-Albanian low-cost airline company, is scheduled to start flights to Tirana at the end of March. El Al’s daughter company, Sub d’Or International, and the Czech Travel Service airline company are offering regular connections to Tel Aviv.
Košice International Airport offers regular flights to three destinations: Bratislava, Prague and Vienna.
During the holiday season Slovak airports also offer charter flights to popular holiday destinations.
After nearly two years, civil flights should be renewed at Sliač airport, SITA wrote. Civil flights from Sliač halted in May 2009, when the reconstruction of a runway with NATO funds started.
At present, preparations are being made to enable regular use of the military airport for civil operation. The condition for resumption of civil transport at Sliač airport will be a licence for provision of air navigation services for civil air transportation issued by the Transport Ministry.
