Slovakia's foreign trade account posted a surplus of €82.1 million in December 2011, the Statistics Office (ŠÚ) announced on February 8, adding that the total trade surplus for all of 2011 came to €2.519 billion, the highest level recorded in the country’s history.
Total exports in December 2011 amounted to €4.349 billion, an increase of 7.5 percent, the TASR newsire wrote based on the ŠÚ report. Imports rose by 0.5 percent in the month to reach €4.267 billion.
Total exports in 2011 increased by 17 percent to €56.494 billion while imports rose by 13.6 percent to €53.975 billion.
