FOUR outpatient health-care providers will receive non-refundable contributions from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Providers based in Nitra, Žilina, Martin and Bardejov will share the overall allocation of about €6.5 million, which will be spent on reconstruction, further construction and modernisation, the SITA newswire reported.
Requests by the 23 facilities who responded to a call for proposals announced by the Health Ministry totalled €23.9 million. The ministry invited outpatient health-care providers to apply for funds to modernise and reconstruct their facilities at the beginning of September 2008. Funds earmarked for the call totalled €6.639 million.
The minimum contribution per application was set at €331,900, while the maximum was €1.66 million. The deadline for submission of projects was December 5, 2008. Owners, long-term tenants or long-term administrators of outpatient health-care facilities were eligible for the EU assistance, as well as hospitals with at least five or more functioning outpatient departments providing daily outpatient health care, SITA reported.
