ECONOMY Minister Ľubomír Jahnátek announced that at an appropriate time an international public tender will be opened for the construction of a new nuclear power plant in Jaslovské Bohunice and that all candidates will have equal opportunity to bid.
The minister told the French Industry Minister, Christian Estrosi, that strict EU rules will be followed in the final processing of the tender submission documentation, the SITA newswire reported.
Jahnátek explained the construction plan for the new nuclear power plant to Estrosi and to Bernard Bigot, the President of the French Atomic Energy Commission. Construction of the new power plant is expected to start after the third and fourth units in the Mochovce nuclear power plant are finished in late 2012.
The ministry reported that the French visitors appreciated the explanation and showed interest in the project, SITA wrote.
