A NEW investor has emerged for the Slovglass glassworks in Poltár in Banská Bystrica Region. The troubled plant is currently undergoing restructuring.
The offer to invest came from German Crystal, which belongs to the German concern AHG Industry, the TASR newswire reported.
The German company said that it could maintain the current number of jobs at Slovglass, a key employer in Poltár, which is in an area with high unemployment.
German Crystal said that its main goal would not only be to make use of the region's tradition of glass production, but also to employ local people's skills and experience in the field.
The company said it also plans to invest money in strengthening Slovglass.
