This year's grain crop is estimated to reach 3.5 - 3.9 million tons, reported the Ministry of Agriculture on July 7. Based on the outcome of the actual harvest, the Ministry will decide whether part of the production will be exported. Producers of barley are already planning to export part of their harvest. So far, the Ministry suggested a price of 3,500 Sk/ton for intervention purchases of grain, but the Agricultural Association has asked for a higher price. A final price is expected to be set soon, after a meeting between the Association and Peter Baco, the Minister of Agriculture.
